Conditions for remaining at the UAB

On 16 July 2004, the UAB approved a new Règim de permanència, a set of regulations regarding the conditions for students remaining at the UAB from one year to another. The new regulations apply to students who enrol for the first time either for the 2004/05 academic year or later, and any other students who decide to come under the new regulations.

All other students are subject to the regulations approved on 22 May 1992 and the modifications made on 17 June 1994 and 17 September 1994.

The following information affects all UAB students. Where the regulations affect only some of the students, this is stated.

 New students
Minimum and maximum number of credits
Enrolment cancellation

Students obtaining a place for the second-cycle
Student record transfer
Further information

1st year
If you are in the first year, you may enrol twice to reach the minimum of 30 credits required to continue your studies.

If you do not reach 30 credits*, you may file a request to enrol the following year. The request must be submitted to the Academic Administration Office (Gestió Acadèmica) no later than a month after the day on which the grades are published.

Dropping out
If you have dropped out of the university because you have not passed 30 credits in the first year, you may Pre-Register for university again after two academic years. You can not do this Pre-Registration more than once, so when you return to the UAB you need to pass 30 credits by the end of the first year.

Over 25s Entrance Examination
If you have passed the over 25s Entrance Examination, whether this year or a previous year, you must pre-register for university to attend for the first time.

If you have passed the Over 25s Entrance Examination and you have begun a university course, but would like to change, you will have to Pre-Register. You may pre-register through route 7 (via 7 - change of studies) and route 9 (via 9 - over 25s) at the same time. When university places are distributed, the Pre-Registration Office will assign you the option that is most beneficial to you.

Provisionally, this article does not apply to students taking the Geogr@phy on-line degree.

(*) Modules that you did not take at the UAB (validated overseas studies or recognition for external activities) and adapted modules do not count towards this minimum number of credits.
